At Pi-IoT, operated by PreIntelligence Research Tech Private Limited, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting information associated with your account, connected machines, edge controllers, production records, sensor readings, and use of our Services.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, process, protect, and retain information when you use the Pi-IoT website, software platform, machine-monitoring dashboards, connected edge controllers, machine interfaces, sensors, production reports, notifications, and related Services.

By accessing or using Pi-IoT, you acknowledge that your information may be processed as described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use Pi-IoT, we may collect information necessary to provide, maintain, secure, and improve our Services.

Account Information

When you create or use a Pi-IoT account, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, login information, account identifiers, company or organization information, and profile information that you choose to provide.

Device and Sensor Information

When you connect a machine, edge controller, or sensor to Pi-IoT, we may collect device identifiers, machine names, controller details, device configuration and status, authentication-related information, machine running status, production counts, running and idle time, machine utilization, fault events, downtime information, shift-wise production records, sensor readings, timestamps, historical records, and other operational information transmitted by connected equipment.

Device and authentication information may be used to verify that data is being submitted by an authorized device and to maintain the security of the Pi-IoT platform.

Hardware Information

If you purchase or use Pi-IoT hardware, we may collect information such as hardware identifiers, device model, configuration information, installation-related information, device status, warranty or service information, and technical information required to provide support.

Payment and Transaction Information

If you make a payment for Pi-IoT products or Services, we may process information such as payment identifiers, order identifiers, transaction information, payment amount, purchase information, and related account or service information.

Payment card and banking information may be processed directly by the applicable payment provider. Pi-IoT does not generally store full payment card details.

Notification Information

If you enable notifications, we may process notification tokens, device identifiers, email addresses, sensor information, alert information, notification status, and notification timestamps in order to provide alerts and other notifications.

Technical and Usage Information

When you use our website or Services, we may collect technical information such as IP address, browser type, operating system, device information, log information, timestamps, error information, diagnostic information, and information about how the Services are used.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to create and manage accounts, authenticate users and connected equipment, receive and process machine and sensor data, display live machine status, present production counts and performance information, calculate or display operational metrics, provide historical data, generate shift-wise and other reports, configure connected equipment, and provide the Pi-IoT Services.

We may also use information to provide customer support, troubleshoot technical issues, maintain hardware and software, process payments, manage purchases, send notifications, provide security, detect unauthorized activity, improve our products and Services, and comply with applicable legal requirements.

3. IoT Data Processing

Pi-IoT processes information transmitted by connected machines, edge controllers, machine interfaces, and sensors to provide machine monitoring, production visibility, downtime analysis, fault information, dashboards, notifications, reporting, and other platform functionality.

Depending on the deployment, operational data may include machine running or stopped status, production counts, running time, idle time, utilization, shift information, fault events, downtime categories, sensor values, device status, timestamps, configuration information, and other telemetry generated or transmitted by connected equipment.

We process this information to provide the functionality requested by the customer and to maintain the operation, security, and reliability of the Pi-IoT platform.

4. Live and Historical Data

Pi-IoT may process live machine and production information separately from historical machine, production, and sensor records.

Live data may be processed and synchronized using real-time cloud infrastructure to display recently received information from connected devices.

Historical information may be stored in databases or time-series storage systems to provide reports, charts, analytics, and historical monitoring.

The availability and retention of historical information may depend on the applicable Service configuration and technical or operational requirements.

5. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain account and operational records, provide customer support, comply with legal requirements, resolve disputes, maintain security, and fulfill other legitimate business purposes.

Machine, production, and sensor information may be automatically deleted or removed when it is no longer required, when applicable storage or retention rules require deletion, or when the associated account or Service is terminated, subject to applicable law, the customer's service configuration, and technical requirements.

Some information may remain in backups, logs, security records, or legally required records for a reasonable period before it is permanently deleted or becomes inaccessible.

Customers are responsible for maintaining their own backup or export of important machine, production, sensor, business, or operational information.

6. Hardware and Support Information

When you contact Pi-IoT for hardware or technical support, we may collect information required to identify the affected device, understand the issue, diagnose problems, process repairs or replacements, and provide support.

This may include device identifiers, configuration information, diagnostic information, photographs or documents voluntarily provided for troubleshooting, service history, and communications with our support team.

We use this information only as reasonably necessary to provide the requested support and related Services.

7. Notifications

Pi-IoT may send service-related communications, device alerts, sensor alerts, account notifications, security notifications, and other necessary communications.

Where you enable applicable notifications, we may use push notification services, email services, or other communication infrastructure to deliver these messages.

Notification delivery may depend on internet connectivity, device settings, valid notification tokens, email providers, third-party services, and other technical conditions.

8. Third-Party Services

Pi-IoT may use third-party technology and service providers to operate the platform and provide specific features.

These services may include cloud infrastructure, real-time database services, authentication services, notification services, payment processing services, email delivery services, hosting providers, database infrastructure, and communication services.

For example, Pi-IoT may use services such as Firebase, PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB, Razorpay, email infrastructure, hosting providers, and other technology providers as required for the operation of the Services.

Information processed through third-party services may also be subject to the privacy policies and terms of those providers.

9. Sharing of Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

We may share or permit access to information when reasonably necessary to operate Pi-IoT, provide technical support, process payments, deliver notifications, maintain cloud infrastructure, protect our systems, investigate security incidents, comply with applicable law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the rights, property, and safety of Pi-IoT, our customers, or other users.

Where third-party service providers process information on our behalf, we take reasonable steps to require appropriate handling of the information in accordance with the purpose for which it was provided.

10. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, misuse, alteration, loss, or disclosure.

Security measures may include authentication controls, access restrictions, device verification, server-side validation, secure infrastructure, monitoring, and other security practices appropriate to the operation of the Services.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
